'How to bail out of a squat SAFELY!'

'Have you ever had a back squat fail, but you didn\'t know how to safely get out from under it? I see this all the time in the gym!  There is definitely a RIGHT way and a WRONG way to bail out of a back squat.  Dumping the bar back off your shoulders onto the safety arms is WRONG. It\'s uber-dangerous as the bar can bounce around too much and might hit you and it is one of the top causes of bent and ruined bars at the gym. If your squat bail technique causes equipment destruction, then it\'s just flat out wrong.  On the other hand, squatting down or leaning forward *slightly* at the bottom in order bail is much, much safer. You\'re able to control the weight and then get out from under it safely. This also means you need to set your safety arms at the proper height to be able to do this! (It\'s a great idea to practice with an empty bar a few time so you feel comfortable.)
