'K is for Kids From the Heart Teen Fashion Show 2014 PSA'

'The 3rd Annual K is for Kids From the Heart Teen Fashion Show 2014   Saturday, February 1st, the 3rd Annual From the Teen Fashion Show will be hosted by Barron Collier High School in Naples. The evening\'s events take place in the school\'s auditorium and includes a silent auction beginning at 6:00 p.m. and fashion show at 7:00 p.m.  The youngest models will start the evening\'s entertainment. \'Tweens and teens will also perform talent acts throughout the show and be eligible to win cash prizes, a new feature offered by the student organizers (judges to be announced).  Also new this year, a scholarship will be given to a young entrepreneur who participates in the show.  The evening\'s proceeds, including books collected and the funds to buy new books, will benefit K is for Kids\' Rising Readers program for Collier County students with a percentage going towards Barron Collier High\'s Helping Hands for Prom.  Tickets are available on Eventbrite: $5.00 for students and $10.00 for adults. Children 5 and under get into the event for free.  The teen fashion show was created in 2011 by Alexis Martin and Erin Clawson as a way for students to work together for a good cause, earn community service hours and apply their leadership skills outside of the classroom.  This year\'s co-chairs are Mario Chang, a Gulf Coast High senior; Patrick Clawson Jr., a Gulf Coast High senior; Nicholas Nolan, a senior at Barron Collier High School; and Nedgie Paul, a Palmetto Ridge junior. Mary Moussa served as a communications intern as well.  Presented by Signature Group Holdings and Arthrex, the show is a student community project \"building readers and leaders\" and is a partnership of K is for Kids Foundation and Barron Collier High, in collaboration with Collier County Public Schools.   Top sponsors include Southwest Florida Modeling Agency, the Naples Daily News, Comcast, and ITZ Media Group/SWFL Charity TV. The show has broad community support with more than 50 businesses and organizations supporting the teens\' efforts.  The latest fashions in clothing, jewelry, hair and make-up will be showcased by A. Jaron Fine Jewelry, Angelrox, Brooks Brothers, Buckle, Cache\', Francesca\'s, Gap, Gigi\'s Children\'s Boutique, Impressions, Men\'s Wearhouse, Naples Laser & Med Spa, the Paul Mitchell School-Ft. Myers, PGA Tour Superstore and Simply Natural.   The fashion show is run by local student leaders and engages over a hundred students from across Collier County with more from south Lee County too. College students are lending a hand as well, with student interns and advisors from Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Central Florida, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Edison State College and Florida A&M.  Additionally, student-produced Public Service Announcements promoting the event will air on Comcast.  K is for Kids is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Naples that has kids on both the giving and receiving ends of its mission building readers and leaders. Through working with community partners, the From the Heart Teen Fashion Festival will collect necessary funds to promote children\'s literacy in the area. By hosting the event, the teens hope to reach younger kids and set an example to them. The foundation is a grassroots movement that now benefits students from more than 45 schools and organizations throughout Collier and south Lee Counties.
