'K Is For Kids Teen Fashion Show 2015'

'News Release By: Oscar Santiago Torres  The 4th Annual K is for Kids From the Heart Teen Fashion Show -  Gathering students of all ages for a good cause -   NAPLES, Fla. – Walk. Pose. Smile. Young models are rehearsing to do just that for their upcoming 4th annual K is for Kids “From the Heart” Teen Fashion Show on Saturday, Feb. 7th at Barron Collier High School’s auditorium. Representing 19 schools from across Collier Count with a few from Lee, students of all ages will model clothing and fashion accessories from 12 local retailers. The student-run community project of building readers and leaders is a partnership between K is for Kids Foundation and Barron Collier High School, in collaboration with Collier County Public Schools.    The evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m. A raffle and silent auction will also be held.  The show begins at 7 p.m. with the youngest models walking on stage first.   Fashions from Brooks Brothers, Buckle, Cache’, Francesca’s, Impressions by Kay Bork, A. Jaron Fine Jewelry, Cape Madras, Men’s Wearhouse, Ooh La La! Jewels Du Jour, Simply Natural and Stacy’s Golden Hanger will be showcased. Models will also sport the latest trends in golfing and tennis attire from PGA Tour Superstore.   A special talent contest for teens during the show is again featured and student organizers have increased the prize money for the top acts. The winner will take home a $500 cash prize, second place will receive $250 and third place $125.   The students’ fun’raiser is for a good cause: Models will be helping to raise money to buy books and collect new and like-new books for children in need across Collier County. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit Barron Collier High School’s Helping Hands for Prom program.  Created in 2011 by then senior students Alexis Martin and Erin Clawson, the teen fashion show offered students the chance to work together for a good cause, earn community service hours, and apply their leadership skills outside of the classroom.  This year\'s co-chairs are Cameryn Anthony, a junior at Gulf Coast High; Rose Gelin, a senior at Lorenzo Walker Technical High & College; Sandra Lovos, a senior at Palmetto Ridge High; Nedgie Paul, a senior at Palmetto Ridge High; Hadrien Roy, a senior at Barron Collier High; and Tyler Schult, a senior at Barron Collier High.   Hadrien Roy, a Barron Collier High School student, is one of K is for Kids’ student leaders who is serving as one of six co-chairs for the show. “I\'ve been in the student-run show for the past two years as a model,” Roy said. “All the friendships made during the show are incredible and I\'m really excited to help the students have a fun time while at the same time supporting a great cause.”   Palmetto Ridge High School student Nedgie Paul is K is for Kids’ senior leader and co-chair for the event. “The teen leaders have been putting in a substantial amount of hours for the preparation of this show. I\'m really excited to see how it turns out,” Paul said.   Dozens of local businesses and organizations support the teens\' efforts.  Top sponsors include Comcast, Social Connect, Arthrex, the Naples Daily News and the Clawson Family.  InTroubleZone Productions films the show every year and a handful of students also shoot videos.   Tracy Gray with Five Star Talent and Productions is the modeling consultant. Models will have their hair and make-up done by Paul Mitchell the School-Ft. Myers. Students from Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology Culinary will provide sweet treats with other donations provided by Mini Homemade Desserts, Mikkelsen’s Pastry Shop, Chick-fil-A, L’Appetito and California Pizza Kitchen.
