'With over one million check ins to date, there have been only 4 possible exposures where someone who tested positive for Covid-19 was in a club prior to the positive test. Being prepared for this event was a huge help, as Club 16 was able to produce a report for contact tracing within an hour of being notified by public health. At that point public health was able to contact everyone immediately to let them know to monitor symptoms but not rush in to get tested unless they had to. They also reviewed the health and safety processes put in place by Club 16 and were impressed with how the organization was handling everything. Another aspect of this was public health communicating with the individual who had the positive test and asking them about what they knew about safety procedures, where they were very impressed at how informed members were, highlighting the importance of all the communication that happened since reopening. This is part of a risk assessment for transmission that public health does, and has been very positive for them feeling the guidelines in gyms have been effective at minimizing this risk. All of this has led to a very positive relationship between public health and the clubs, with an effective contact tracing process in place and a trust that the guidelines have been effective, especially since there have been no secondary transmissions traced to the gyms. ******** The Future of Fitness focuses on the intersection between the fitness industry, technology and healthcare.
